Dear Sam,

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this year’s Chincoteague Island Daffodil Festival. As always, your staff was pleasant, helpful and courteous. This goes a long way in helping to make an event successful. One of the many positive characteristics of your show is that you are always present and you make an effort to touch base with all of the vendors during the course of the show.

Again, we thank you for the opportunity to participate in the Daffodil Festival and the upcoming Chincoteague Island Blueberry Festival.

Sincerely,
Frank and Charlene Herzins

Dear Sam & the Wonderful Team, who organized and worked on the Blueberry Festival,

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the Chincoteague Blueberry Festival.  As you know we are new to the world of art/craft shows and your gracious hospitality and kindness helped to make our show event a most enjoyable experience.

We want you to know that the Blueberry Festival was quintessentially organized and ran flawlessly. The ‘check-in’ was seamless with all vendors’ spaces clearly marked.  The availability of assisstance to answer questions or get needed equipment helped to expedite our set up.  This attention to detail was obvious as the event proceeded smoothly and efficiently.  We could tell by the morning jovial announcements for snow and cold; and from the entire team’s deportment that this was a fun undertaking and that everyone was there with the same goal: ‘success for all’.

It was evident from the beginning to the end that every minute, every situation had been thought through and plans were in place to be proactive at a moment’s notice.  Thank you for providing and organizing an event that certainly sets the standard for all others to strive for in the future.

Sincerely,
Frank and Charlene Herzins

Sam,

I do want to add, that you are the best and most understanding promoter that I have ever worked with. Jay and I really appreciate your kindness and patience.

 Hi Sam!

I just wanted to give you some feedback on this year’s 2008 Chincoteague Blueberry Festival event.

This is the only show I’ve ever participated in where I feel the promoter really cares about the vendors. I know this is your business but I feel you go out of your way to let everyone know who you are. You also are there if any problems arise and take care of them promptly and professionally. As far as I am concerned, this is a major consideration as to whether I will return to a show.

The application process was easy and and I heard back almost immediately. When I was unsure if I would be able to do the show this year due to a possible scheduling conflict, you were patient with my last minute decision. I appreciate that.

Thank you, Sam, You do a great job in putting this together.

Sam,

I realized after I sent the email that I had one more comment. I noticed on one of my restroom trips that the admissions people were telling everyone to make sure they visited the outdoor vendors. I appreciated this extra effort on their part. I feel we had a good flow of traffic outside.

Thanks again!

Hi Sam-

Here is my testimonial on the blueberry pancakes at the 2008 Chincoteague Blueberry Festival. Man they were good! Wish I had some now. “Undoubtedly, Pepper Jack Grill made the best blueberry pancakes I’ve ever had! The fluffy batter with just the right amount of sweetness to compliment the fresh blueberries was perfectly prepared on the outdoor griddle. I have never eaten pancakes with so many fresh blueberries and with such a generous portion of savory country bacon. Honestly, as a blueberry pancake aficionado, I can’t wait to go back next year and have them again because I know I will not have better until then. What an unexpected treat!”

Hello Mr. Serio,

I wanted to contact you right away to say that in my humble opinion your event was one of the best, if not the best, organized of any event I have observed. You and your staff saw to every detail and communication and the event operations were very well run. It was apparent that you worked very hard to get the media coverage and it was very well attended.

Thank you for all your hard work. It shows!

Best wishes,

Linda Lumbert

What a fabulous 2007 Chincoteague Island Blueberry Festival. It was the best ever. Judging from the crowds, you really did your marketing magic, including ordering perfect weather! We were very pleased and will return for as long as we are able. Danny and I appreciate all the hard work that you, your family and your staff have put into promoting the show. You bring in the crowds; the rest is up to us. And the crowds do come! Most of this hard work is done sight unseen and months ahead of the festival. But it culminates beautifully on a festive July weekend preceeding the enchanting week of Pony Penning.

We also enjoyed the new beautifully appointed Chincoteague Island Blueberry Festival Guide that you published. We think it’s a great way to keep the Blueberry Festival in everyone’s mind long after it ends because folks keep the guides.

Sam, thank you so much for the care, time and energy your have put into the Festival. You continually strive to try new ideas for the betterment of the Festival. I have never worked with a promoter who cares as much for the vendors as you do. I look forward to working with you again in 2008.

Having participated in the blueberry festival as vendors for the past few years we feel the 2006 blueberry festival was the best organized and best attended one by far. Hats off to Sam who, through his expertise and dedication made it all happen.

Hi Sam, Tami, Cindy and Mike. I just wanted to take the time and tell you all what an excellent job you did hosting a craft show! Each of you made us feel right at home. You were very helpful in many ways. The vendors whom Terry and I spoke to had the nicest comments to say about each of you. Everything looked beautiful! You choose vendors with class. Thank you for that. That makes me feel good! You did a wonderful, super job!! If you choose to host more craft show, I would be honored to participate in them. Again thank you for allowing us to be a part of your show! God Bless and much success to you all!!

Thank you for having a great Blueberry Show. We were very pleased and surprised at the number of people and how well we did. Really we had very little hope for a good show. We did twice as much business as what we had predicted. No one who has not put on a show knows the time and effort required. One of the reasons, besides all the customers who came, was the awesome space you gave us with 56 feet of frontage for people to see what we had. We are very interested in the next show you produce.

Dear Interested Exhibitor,

The Annual Chincoteague Island Blueberry Festival, the largest fine art and craft show on the Eastern Shore of Virginia is fast becoming a premier special event of regional importance. The beautiful Island of Chincoteague is situated off the coast of Virginia and is actually one of two islands, Chincoteague Island and Assateague Island. When one visits these islands, they immediately understand why they were kept a closely held secret by those who knew of their charms for many years. It is a gorgeous island setting famous for beautiful sunsets, romantic getaways, natural beauty, camping, fishing, boating, seafood.  Chincoteague is every water-lover’s fantasy come true. This island has something for everyone in the family.  To learn more about Chincoteague Island, please visit: www.ChincoteagueOutlook.com or www.ChincoteagueIslandVacations.com.

The Chincoteague Blueberry Festival is the opening act for one of the most exciting weeks of activity on the Island; namely, Pony Penning Week, featuring world-famous Chincoteague Pony Swim. There are more visitors to Chincoteague Island on this week than any other week of the year. If you are unfamiliar with Pony-Penning Week, look in any child’s reading book collection and you will often see one titled “Misty of Chincoteague” by Marguerite Henry. This children’s classic was written by a Chincoteague native and delves into the mysteries and romance of the Chincoteague Ponies. The legend of the Chincoteague Ponies is the magnet for thousands of visitors to Chincoteague Island at this time.

Though the Chincoteague Blueberry Festival has been in existence for many years, it underwent a change of management several years ago, and with an aggressive new approach to promotion and advertising, more than tripled  the attendance of any previous year.  The Chincoteague Blueberry Festival has grown every year since then.

The Festival has always been a well kept secret among artists and crafters because of the extraordinarily high quality of shoppers who attend the festival in anticipation of a “Christmas in July” shopping experience. Visitors to Chincoteague Island at this time of year come from all points of the United States and many come from Canada, Europe, and Japan as well. These visitors are looking for unique gift items to bring back home and are ready to buy. Also, it has been observed that many of the local gift shop owners use the festival as an opportunity to find unique wholesale gift items for their stores.

We invite you to apply as we are always looking for new and interesting exhibitors. Please act promptly as new exhibitors are considered on a first-come, first-served basis, and the show fills up quickly. We thank you for your consideration and hope to work with you in the future.

Sincerely,                                                       Sam Interviewing
